In Playa de Aro, on 23rd June each year we welcome in the summer by enjoying the fireworks from the Playa Grande beach during the celebration of St. John’s Eve. Every year we are amazed by the new firework choreographies and we start dreaming about the coming months. The weather is starting to get warmer, it’s a time when we can enjoy our beaches, the coastal paths, walks through the pine trees of S’Agaró and enjoy the Costa Brava and the Mediterranean.
Xalaro is the first festival on the Costa Brava dedicated to family audiences and it is held at the end of June. When it comes to music, the festival offers varied performances which complement the free theatre shows, street entertainment, the circus, magic and clown acts as well as outdoor games in a an intensely packed weekend to be enjoyed.
At the end of August, the Medieval Market of Castillo de Aro invites everyone to take a trip back in time to the Middle Ages. The craftworkers go about their work as they did in that period, dishes to delight the palate of all visitors, who will also be able to find a variety of handmade products. This whole world is framed with period costumes, medieval scenery and a constant flow of entertainment with jester shows, magic, juggling, psaltery concerts, medieval music, acrobatics and parades.
